Stadia, Apple Arcade and the one that Amazon will do.

Let's be completely honest, there is not enough choice when it comes to gaming consoles, but is that a bad thing? Lets have a look....

Last week Google announced its pay monthly gaming platform called Stadia (yes, the advert was a bit shit) there was a very mixed reception to it, some people thought it would flop because of Googles lack of experience in the gaming arena, others thought it would be a hit because of Googles massive piles of "lets see if this works" cash. Just as the dust was beginning to settle Apple, in the ultimate display of shithousery, announced their pay monthly gaming platform called Apple Arcade which will be mainly aimed at the mobile gaming community. Apple also announced a credit card...... A F**KING CREDIT CARD!!! We know that Amazon have their own game development studio and there has been a lot of talk regarding their pay monthly platform, which will probably be switched on using the phrase "NO WAIT, ALEXA STOP, ALEXA PLAY VIDEO GAMES" followed by Alexa saying "PLAYING CHRIS REA WICKED GAMES".

As much as we feel that the "pay monthly" method is a good one, after all our platform is based on that, there is a slight issue with it when it comes to new gaming content and that is the only people that miss out is us, the gamers. If you liked Halo you owned an Xbox, if you liked The Last of US you had PlayStation... but if you liked both, well, that's going to set you back a grand just in hardware plus £80 a month to play games online. Lets say that there's a £150 price point on the Stadia and Amazon devices, not bad for a Christmas or Birthday present but if you add the £10 per month (this is an assumption) per unit, plus the £10 for Apple Arcade and the £80 per month to run an Xbox and PS4 then we are spending £1320 per year before we have even bought a game. Food for thought.

We wanted to know what PlayStation and Xbox thought so….. what other choice did we have but to make a call to both and ask them their thoughts on the announcements of Stadia and Apple Arcade. PlayStation said “We are not sure why you are so insistent on us making a comment” and Xbox said “You're the person that keeps calling asking us to remake Unreal Championships aren't you”.

You heard it here first folks.
