Meloys Blog - Apex Season 2

He’s only gone and done it again, back for another piece on the only game worth playing right now, yup, that’s right: Apex Legends. But this time round I’m gonna be talking about my experience with Season 2 over the last couple weeks since it released. There’s a lot I want to cover in this piece, but at the same time I don’t want to talk you all to death because I’ve become so glued to Apex that I could probably write a book about all the shit I’ve got up to on this game.

Let’s get this started because I know you’ve all been waiting a while for my next blog.

So what’s new about Season 2 on Apex? Well there’s a lot of new additions that the good old

people at Respawn Entertainment have been so kind to add on for us?

To begin with they’ve given us a whole new Legend who goes by the name of Wattson, I haven’t had a chance to play as her yet but I’ve seen her in action and she has some very cool abilities. Her ultimate ability is aninterception pylon which repairs a maximum of 3 shield levels whilst also destroying enemy ordnance. She can also set up this electric perimeter fence that damages and slows enemies down, so you can say she is quite the defensive character. Lastly, she has this passive ability called Spark of genius and I think the name speaks for itself, when she uses an ultimate accelerant it fully recharges her ultimate ability and when you stand near one of her pylons it gives her tactical ability a recharge. So a character like her would be perfect in solo mode if you can master and utilise all three of her abilities together. I think she might be the next character I unlock.

In my last blog, I mentioned how much I had grown fond of Bangalore and I can honestly say I haven’t used her much at all this season, because not long after the last time you heard from me I unlocked Octane “The adrenaline Junky” and ironically I’ve been hooked since. But I’ll talk more about that speed demon another time.

One of the things I personally love about this new season is one of the new attachments called Disruptor Rounds; you can attach it to the RE-45 or the Alternator for additional damage towards shields. Also for those who aren’t aware, the Alternator got a slight damage increase of 13 to 15, so with the Distruptor Rounds attached this gun can pack quite the punch. But that’s not all that’s been added to this season, there are new attachments for the P2020, Havoc, Triple Take, Devotion and (sigh) Mozambique. A little damage increase to Flatline, P2020, Alternator and Kraber. But we cannot forget about the new airdrop weapon, the L-STAR EMG. This bad boy right here is a serious piece of machinery. With high damage and rapid fire rate, this gun cuts up your enemies like a knife through butter. When you disregard the limited supply of ammo and overheating, this hardware is perfect for dropping guys in a close quarter combat. Sadly, you can only find them in an airdrop so if you do come across it, you better grab that thing before someone else does.

New weapons and attachments aside though, Respawn really blessed us with this new season. Apart from the two big dinosaur looking fuckers who are stomping through the map and turning some areas to shit, there are a few new spots for you to loot from too.

Overall I would say I am very happy with the end product of Season 2, it didn’t disappoint me at all. An update is supposed to make a game better to play and this one has really made me love Apex even more, it has become more enjoyable for me to the point where I’m finding the time to game more. Probably why it has taken me quite some time to write something new for you guys, although I have had a few little side projects I am working on in my defence, but I digress. When you compare this update to other games (That I won’t mention because I’m trying to keep this piece 100% Apex related) you can really say it is a vast improvement from Season 1 because there wasn’t too much change, it was subtle and easy for the user to get used to. Other games will throw an update at you with so many new features for you to discover that by the time you do, there’s already a new update ready for you to download. So hats off to Respawn, I can already tell this is the first of many great Seasons to come and I cannot wait to play whatever they’re brewing up for us in Season 3, until next time guys.
